NAME: Josh Rosza
CANON: The Originals
CR/AU/PSL: n/a
HISTORY: wiki entry
To summarize; Josh was ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. After being fed on by vampires and then healed with their blood, Klaus, in his mission to knock Marcel out of the top spot, decided that Josh and his friend Tina would be the perfect "patient zeros". Vampires who had yet to take vervain to resist compulsion, and vampires Klaus could compel to do his bidding. After being discovered, they were given a choice - and in the end, Tina betrayed him and ended up being the one to lose her life, leaving Josh to a life as a vampire, and one doing Klaus' bidding.
Of course, this didn't last long, and once Marcel found out had Davina, a young witch under his protection, remove Klaus' compulsion. It resulted in the two bonding and becoming fast friends.
Josh assisted in a plan to attack Klaus, although he wasn't involved in the fight itself - and never is, in both seasons. He had another brush with death when Klaus bit him (werewolf or hybrid bites = poisonous to vampires) to convince Davina to work with him, but in the end he was saved by Davina.
In the next season, Josh is working alongside Marcel as his second in command, helping him build an army of vampires to eventually attempt to overthrow Klaus. However, he ends up meeting Aiden, a werewolf who starts out as an enemy, and eventually becomes a trusted friend and in Josh's case, his boyfriend. The vampires and werewolves eventually attempt and alliance with season 2's threat closing in, and while there's a few rocky moments in their relationship, Aiden and Josh decide they're going to flee New Orleans before they can get caught up in the next fight.
Unfortunately, the threat is Dahlia, Klaus' aunt, and she uses Aiden as a tipping point - by killing him and making it look like Klaus was the culprit. Devastated, Josh sees no choice but to leave New Orleans, and the last time we see him is when he attends Aiden's funeral.
SETTING: Modern world circa 2015. Y'know, one with witches, werewolves, and vampires. And who knows what the hell else.
PERSONALITY: Josh really is a nice, friendly guy who has ended up in a really terrible situation and tried to survive it, to some degree of success. I mean, if you take into account that he actually died and came back as a vampire. Against his will, mind you, but he's rolling with it as best he can.
He has an inclination to joke in stressful situations; it's more a nervous habit than anything, especially seen in more dangerous scenarios. While it could be seen as comic relief, it's really just his reaction to things he isn't sure how to handle. It's an attempt to ease some of the tension, and to keep himself from freaking out.
He has a sense of humor all the time, however. He likes to make his friends laugh, to joke around and be as normal as he can be. He drops pop culture references as well, and will quote Lord of the Rings if the situation fits. It's safe to say that Josh is something of a nerd.
But his best, and most important trait, is his loyalty. Even though he could be considered something of a coward, preferring to stay out of the fight and god willing, be as far from the fight as possible, he's loyal to a fault to the people he calls his friends. He'd do anything for them (he's told Aiden he'd die for him), and as mentioned, betrayal hurts him deeply, like what happened with Tina. And it's all genuine; there's no second guessing his decisions to help his friends, because as he's told his boyfriend - they're his friends, and he loves them.
